Why am I running for Congress....?  Quite simply...Leadership on spending,  reducing big government.  

We must Discipline our Hearts....!

Actually, there is not enough room on this website....so just some basic facts about replacing an Obama enabler with a true fiscal Conservative who will fight for you under the Constitution.

I am running for congress with a New Direction in mind for this country. The direction we are headed is disastrous....we must alter our course...and quickly. Congress and Obama are spending us into bankruptcy. We do now realize - Hope is not a strategy, Change is not a plan. Why should we be surprised now that he failed miserably?

We do have, however those in Congress who continue to enable Obama on this path to disaster. For example, The 2% "Payroll Tax Cut"...a sham, a shell game. Every congressman wants to give his "current" voters a tax cut so Mr. Congressman can proclaim as Obama does at every possible occasion  "I gave everyone a tax cut. The citizens will re-elect me." But as Paul Harvey was accustomed to say... "The rest of the story" is not so pretty.

This 2% ($200B) was extracted directly from the Social Security Funds that would normally be used to make payments to current social security recipients...current likely voters. Now as Congressmen can't offset any current wild, abusive, entitlement spending so Congress must borrow what Congress took away from the Social Security Funds so Congress can pay the "old folks" because they really turn out to vote.

In steps Ben Bernacke of the Fed, Congress can borrow the money (then y'all can just blame it on the Fed)...because grandkids don't vote yet and for another 10-20 years. Congress will just stick to the grandkids...after all, it's only $200B....And now you know .... the rest of the story....

There is too much of the mindset above. Replacing Obama is NOT enough. We must "transform"  the paradigm or Congressional mindset from:
"If I spend voters will re-elect me" to "If I spend voters will kick me out on my rear end".

I don't have to remind everyone of all the devastation this President has sadly instigated in this country, but I must remind everyone that virtually everything he has done is a job killer...Just in Texas alone for example...Sealy Military truck factory, Offshore Drilling Moratorium, NASA Cuts, attempted takeover by EPA from the Texas Government, protecting West Texas Sand Lizards over Oil and gas people's jobs, Denying Texas a Space Shuttle for our tourism industry, Not Paying for the incarceration of illegal aliens, and yes, ObamaCare will cost Texans money and jobs- original forecast from Pelosi was to save " $2 Trillion", but is now forecast to cost $500B, not to save anything, ...and we're still digging through this mess of a bill.

Now then this President is letting deportable aliens out of jail...an amnesty for up to 300,000 illegal aliens. He made no proposal for this plan. There was no vetting by Congress...pure and simple a pander to the open border groups and their lawyers... a clear, offensive abrogation to his oath to enforce the law.
This government is without common sense....this government is run by a President who hates the Constitution. He spent his entire adult life studying the Constitution for ways to circumvent this hallowed and direct document.
But I am not running against him. I am running against his enablers. I am running against a Republican leadership who believes that it would have been just dandy to, in the Grand Plan, increase taxes by $800B to save the President's image. This leadership would have been purely pleased to cut the deficit (not the National Debt) by 25% over ten years (Maximizing America's Prosperity Plan).

What about the other 75% over the next 10 years? 40 years to balance the budget? I am running against a Republican Leadership that believes if they vote for this spending, they will be re-elected. If they vote against spending, well, no one is watching and they will still be re-elected. We citizens must re-direct the DC (debt city) mindset.
There is a very simple equation to understand: Borrow + Spending = Deferred Taxes ..Why is Congress doing this? The piper must be paid...but of most importance...the congressman wants to be re-elected.

Are you willing to ensure tax hikes with the Republican Leadership Plans? These plans will raise your taxes. These career, unresponsive and irresponsible politicians need to be returned home.. Sixteen years is too long for a Congressman. Term limits are needed. Long term career politicians...Congressmen... lose the perspective of their voters no matter how many times they come home, no matter how many townhalls, to say they are fighting for us. Career Congressmen who always will spend YOUR money because they believe this spending will get them elected again and again.

Congress's approval rate is near +/- 9%. We must stop re-electing incumbents. We re-elect near 95% every year. Is this the insanity Einstein pondered... that we expect a better result when we re-elect the same big government, big spenders back to the House?
Join me in my challenge to remove and replace entrenched, long term, career politicians. Kevin Brady has been in DC too long. My arm will not be twisted on increased spending or increased taxing or increased debt ceilings or praying at the altar of a NO common sense Debt Ceiling Raise.

I will not "retreat". I will not "cave". I will not "surrender" and I will NOT "compromise" my principles. I will push to Secure the Border and work for requiring Enforcement of the laws which this congress is too weak or politically correct to do. Reduce Federal Control and Spending on education returning those monies and those responsibilities to the local trustees where they belong. I will push in every way I can, the recognition that God's Word and God's rules are the foundation of our Constitution and our Constitution must be followed in all laws written.
